Winchester also has excellent transport connections into central London, as well as Southampton and Portsmouth on the south coast.
Some of our team recently took a day trip to visit the property and explore the local area, and they had some interesting things to report back.
As they explored the area it was immediately clear that there is a real need for guardianship in Winchester. Winchester is an expensive and affluent city, and private rental is rising, making it difficult for young professionals to get a foothold near their place of work.
We often talk about the housing crisis in London, but it is evident that the same issues are affecting numerous other cities. According to the Office for National Statistics, the average monthly rental prices in Winchester start from £625 for a Studio, £775 for a one-bedroom flat and £900 for a two-bedroom flat.
Being a university town, thousands of students and researchers flock for the high level of education, meaning that the demand for the rental market is constant, and landlords and realtors can charge a premium on rooms. When pricing our rooms, we found that the cost of living at our property is roughly 50% below market rate.
